Overview
The U.S. Air Force has established a Community Partnership (AFCP) initiative through which agencies on an installation and the public/private sector can develop ways to reduce costs or risks by identifying ways to leverage their resources. As part of this program, the Air Force has developed the Opportunity Analysis process where mid-term projects that match the key interests of the wing commander, across 9 categories, can be identified to be taken on by the Air Force directly or brought into the AFCP process. Examples of key geospatial products that highlight the existing conditions surrounding a potential opportunity have been provided below.

By gathering available data (fire behavior, fire risk, and wildland urban interface) from federal and state agencies, identification of the potential impact of wildland fire on the installation and the local community is key to determining the potential cost benefits and risks.

Storm Surge in the Panama City, Florida Region
The SLOSH model was utilized for evaluating the extent in which storm surge from extreme weather events for both the installation and the local municipality. This aided in highlighting the need for investment into research and potential for local and state collaborative efforts.
